Full course description

The AI Innovators Pathway is a six-week microcredential offered by the Paul English Applied Artificial Intelligence Institute (PEAAII) at UMass Boston. This program combines online learning, hands-on workshops, and an in-person AI Applications Hackathon to help students develop practical AI skills and applied problem-solving experience. Learners engage in AI project design, implementation, peer evaluation, and team collaboration, gaining experience in coding, project management, and innovation.
Open to undergraduate and graduate students across all disciplines, the program emphasizes cross-campus participation and is designed to be accessible to students with non-technical backgrounds. Participants earn the microcredential by successfully completing the AI Contest, Hackathon projects, and workshops, demonstrating competence in applied AI, teamwork, and communication. Completion requires achieving an overall success threshold of 80% across all components, validating readiness to apply AI skills in academic and professional settings.
